Afterword
It has been a long time; this is
Ukai.
How was Death Game Volume 7? Finally,
at last, we ended up doing an entire volume of stories outside the games.
Yuuki, who achieved—ended up achieving—massive growth at the end of the
previous volume. The games following that were naturally a streak of easy wins,
and therefore, there was no room to insert conflict or drama. As a result of
thinking about how to create a story despite that, it took this form.
Tochinoki-so and Harunire City have existed around Yuuki since long ago, but
this is the first time they have been talked about deeply. I personally think
that because she crossed one peak, the view has likely become better. I would
be happy if you enjoyed this Death Game Volume 7.
...By the way.
This is just my personal feeling, but
I have a memory from my childhood that the seventh volume of light novels felt
awfully long in coming. Being a follower of trends, I basically only picked up
works that were being adapted into anime, but I felt like there was some kind
of span between volume 6 and volume 7. I used to use my reasoning skills, even
as a child, thinking that perhaps the progress was delayed due to various tasks
related to the anime adaptation.
At that time, I never thought I would
become the one making people wait.
And... I didn't think it would be
turned into an animation either.
By the time this book is out in the
world, the announcement should have already been made... but it is becoming
one. My humble work, Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table (Shibou Yuugi
de Meshi wo Kuu), has been greenlit for an anime adaptation. Oh, man... what
can I say... this is an amazing thing. I still remember typing the reply while
my heart was pounding when I first received this talk via email. I will do my
absolute best as well, so to everyone involved, I humbly ask for your support.
I would like to express my gratitude
to Editor O and Nekometaru-sensei, who have taken great care of me in this
volume as well. It is thanks to you two that I was able to get such an
opportunity. I express my heartfelt thanks, tirelessly, again and again.
